This tour is ideal for the first time traveller to South Africa and is designed to achieve a balance of seeing the highlights of the country whilst including sufficient relaxation time. Discover a country of many facets, its people, culture and wildlife.

Day 1:
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by a Welcome Tourism Services representative, handed your world-class documentation and assisted to the Europcar rental counter to collect your vehicle. From the airport, travel to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The Radisson Waterfront Hotels’ private Marina is complimented by hotel décor that exhibits a distinctively nautical flair.

Day 2 and 3:
Built on rocks facing the ocean, this hotel is ideally situated for visiting all the sightseeing attractions that Cape Town has to offer. We recommend excursions to Cape Point, the well-known winelands, Table Mountain and Robben Island. A wide variety of Welcome Tourism Services’ half and full day tours are also available.

Day 4:
Depart from Cape Town and travel via Swellendam and Mossel Bay to Oudtshoorn – the Ostrich capital of the world. Your hotel, a beautifully restored Victorian house, offers views of the Swartberg Mountains and makes the ideal base to visit the famous Cango Caves, one of the Ostrich Show Farms or the Cango Wildlife Ranch.

Day 5 and 6:
Your trip continues via George and Knysna to Plettenberg Bay where your hotel is set high on the majestic cliffs of the dramatic coastline. As a gateway to the Garden Route this area offers much to explore. Enjoy the beautiful blue bay, white sandy beaches and watch out for dolphins and whales (seasonal) or visit the rugged Tsitsikamma Mountains.

Day 7 and 8:
After breakfast, return to George to fly on to Johannesburg (not included). After collecting your Europcar rental vehicle, head north west to Sun City. The magical flagship hotel, The Palace of the Lost City, takes its architectural and interior themes from a lavish lost African tribe fantasy. Access to the ‘big five’ malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park; two Gary Player designed golf courses and a multitude of indoor and outdoor recreational activities will keep you dazzled and well entertained.

Day 9:
Depart Sun City and travel via Pretoria, Dullstroom and Lydenburg to the Mount Sheba Nature Reserve. Relax at your country retreat, surrounded by indigenous forests and mountains above the historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest.

Day 10:
After breakfast, travel via Sabie and onto the ‘big five’ Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Arrive at Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve in time for afternoon high tea and game drive in an open safari vehicle. Enjoy excellent game viewing, gourmet food and magnificent accommodation. Each glass-fronted suite with superb views of the bushveld, has a private deck and plunge pool. The experienced staff have been hand selected for their knowledge, enthusiasm and total dedication to service excellence.

Day 11:
After an early game drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast and relax at the lodge until lunch, or the more adventurous, a guided bush walk is on offer. After high tea and the late afternoon game drive, return to the Lodge for dinner for an African feast in the boma (weather permitting).

Day 12:
After a morning game viewing activity and breakfast, continue on to your small luxury hotel near Hazyview. Blue Mountain Lodge, an out of Africa dream come true, is well known for its luxurious setting and design, innovative cuisine and personal service.

Day 13:
After a sumptuous breakfast, you have the full day at your disposal to either relax at this superb hotel or to explore the sights of the Panoramic Route. We recommend a visit to the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window and the numerous waterfalls.

Day 14:
After breakfast travel via Nelspruit and Witbank to Johannesburg. Your luxury hotel is set in the leafy suburbs of Northern Johannesburg in an innovative and technologically advanced mixed-use life style centre. Dinner is at your leisure and may be taken at the varied restaurants in Melrose Arch, or in nearby Sandton or Rosebank.

Day 15:
After breakfast, catch up on some last minute shopping or the numerous Welcome Tourism Services day tours on offer. Proceed to Johannesburg International Airport for rental drop off.
