tour is designed for the client who wants to experience South Africa
without following the footsteps of thousands before him. Still focusing
on the highlights of our country, this journey through our nation will
leave the traveller relaxed, satisfied and hungry for more.
Day
1:
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met by
a Welcome Tourism Services representative, handed your world-class documentation
and assisted to the Europcar rental counter for the collection of your
vehicle. Depart to the northern suburb of Illovo for your first overnight
stop. Use the rest of the day to relax around the pool, go shopping
in nearby Sandton or visit the sights of Johannesburg. A variety of
Welcome Tourism Services day tours are available.

2:
Enjoy your sumptuous breakfast before travelling in an easterly direction.
By-pass Witbank and Middleburg travelling through Belfast before arriving
in the quaint village of Dullstroom.

Day 3 and 4:
Leave the flyfisherman-country behind you, travelling via the scenic
Panorama Route visit Gods Window, Three Rondavels, Burkes
Luck Potholes, Mac Mac Falls and Pilgrims Rest - to arrive at
your next destination, Thornybush Game Reserve. Experience the African
bush with its wildlife in an open safari vehicle.

Day
5:
After breakfast enter the famous Kruger National Park at the Orpen Gate
and exit at the Phalaborwa Gate. Leaving the bushveld behind you to
enter the sub-tropical paradise of Tzaneen. Hidden in lush indigenous
forests, macadamia nuts plantations and amazing mountain ranges lies
the Coach House.

Day
6 and 7:
The Waterberg is one of the most undersold top class destinations South
Africa has to offer. Spectacular mountain scenery complements herds
of free roaming game. Arrive in the late afternoon at this private game
lodge, free of malaria, and surrounded by pristine African bush that
is home to the Big Five. Enjoy game drives or walks, alternatively relax
by the pool.

8 and 9:
After a sumptuous breakfast, travel from the tranquillity of the bushveld
to the hustle and bustle of the world famous Sun City Complex, where
you can enjoy the many attractions and entertainment. Perhaps experience
an Elephant Back Safari or Hot-Air ballooning over the Pilansberg National
Park.

10:
From Sun City cut across the North West Province to join the N1 in Kroonstad,
just before entering the Free State, Big Sky Country. En route to the
judicial capital of South Africa you have an opportunity to visit the
prehistoric stone huts near Kroonstad or the Lumsdens Horse Monument
just short of your overnight stop.

11 and 12:
Spend the morning discovering the city, visit the Supreme Court or the
Womans Monument, reminiscent of the Anglo-Boer War era. Continue
through barren landscape to the semi-desert area of the Karoo. Accommodation
is in the National Park just outside Beaufort West.

13:
Depart in the morning and continue along the N1 to Cape Town. En route
to Matjiesfontein visit one of many Block Houses, which played such
a crucial strategic role in the civil wars in this area towards the
end of the 18th century. Tonights destination has not only been declared
a National Monument but it is also known for its traditional cuisine.
Matjiesfontein was founded in 1884 by James Douglas Logan. During the
Anglo-Boer war the town served the British as a military stronghold
and the Lord Milner Hotel became a war hospital. The station and the
beautiful Victorian buildings were meticulously restored and a little
museum opened to document the unusual history of the village and its
inhabitants.

Day
14:
Today is the day for mountain passes, travel along the Witteberge and
down the Hex River Pass before the craggy Swartruggens Mountain block
your progress. Skip the modern tunnel and use the Du Toitskloof Pass
leading directly into Paarl, the heart of the wine producing area of
South Africa and then continue onto Stellenbosch.

15:
Today your unusual journey through a nation ends in Cape Town or at
the Cape Town International Airport.
