This
tour is for the lifestyle connoisseur. Taken at a leisurely pace the
routing allows clients to see many of the off-the-beaten-track
areas of the Cape at a relaxed pace. Accommodation is upmarket and luxurious.
Day
1 and 2:
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by a Welcome
Tourism Services representative, handed your world-class documentation
and assisted to the Europcar rental counter to collect your vehicle.
Drive to the ultra luxurious and centrally situated Cape Grace for a
two-night stay. In the afternoon you may embark on a discovery tour
of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula. Enjoy the many scenic attractions,
speciality shops and cosmopolitan cuisine at your own pace or follow
our suggested itinerary enclosed in your documents. A wide variety of
Welcome Tourism Services day tours are also available.

Day
3 and 4:
Depart Cape Town and drive eastwards along the Indian Ocean to the quaint
town of Hermanus. Experience the delightful local culture, small restaurants
and perhaps hear the sounds of the Whale Crier signalling
the arrival of a Southern Right Whale in the bay. Continue for a short
distance to Gansbaai, to the exclusive Grootbos Private Nature Reserve,
for a two-night stay. The reserve is a haven for nature enthusiasts
and is perfectly located for whale watching (best between July and November).
The reserve also offers a host of optional excursions that range from
nature drives and walks to boat-based whale / shark watching and horse
riding.

Day
5:
Travel a short distance inland towards Oukraal before turning east again
towards the Indian Ocean. Travel via the town of Bredasdorp to Malgas,
where you cross the Breede River on the last hand-operated pontoon in
South Africa. You arrive in Port Beaufort in the late afternoon.

Day 6:
Today you have the full day at leisure. Why not travel to Swellendam,
the third oldest town in South Africa. This picturesque town is located
at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains and in the heart of the historical
Overberg region. Whilst in Swellendam visit the Drostdy Museum the Breede
River Wine Route or the Bontebok National Park.

Day
7 and 8:
Leave the ocean behind and travel in an easterly direction to the town
of Somerset West, located at the foothills of the majestic Helderberg
and Hottentots Holland Mountains. Continue on to Stellenbosch and Paarl
and spend two nights at the Grande Roche Hotel. Situated amidst magnificent
trees, manicured lawns and abundant flowerbeds, this hotel offers a
perfect base from which to explore the many estate vineyards of the
Cape Winelands.

Day
9:
Enjoy the last day of your journey in the Cape Winelands before returning
your rental vehicle in Cape Town or at the International Airport.
