Day 1
Arrival at Walvis Bay Airport, where you will be met by an Abenteuer Afrika Safari Representative, who will assist you with your baggage and other arrival formalities. He will brief you on various topics regarding the itinerary, road conditions and general information.
Your rental vehicle will be handed over, and the adventure is about to begin.
Depart from the airport for Swakopmund, where you check in at the Swakopmund Hotel.
This is certainly Namibia’s premier coastal holiday resort. This 4-star luxury hotel has been built around the impeccably restored “Bahnhof” (old train station building) where the old ticket sales area has been transformed into the reception and hotel lobby. Colonial in style, the hotel is set around a large quad with immaculate lawns, a sparkling swimming pool and lofty palm trees. The Hotel combines warm Namibian hospitality and exceptional levels of service and style and has an international reputation for excellence.
Enjoy the luxury of one of 90 en suite rooms, most of which overlook the pool. Seven TV channels, mini bar and fridge, baby-sitting service and 24 hr room service are available. The Captain’s Tavern Seafood Restaurant and the Platform One offer mouth-watering menus.
Attached to the hotel is the lively entertainment center with its rustic pub, casino, gym and conference facilities for up to 300 delegates.
Swakopmund is known as the “Jewel of Namibia”, glistening in the sunshine, tucked between ocean and desert. Swakopmund is popular amongst visitors because of its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere. Founded in 1892 during the period of colonial rule, it served as the territory’s main harbour for many years. Quaint architecture from a bygone era adds to the continental atmosphere of Swakopmund.

Day 2
Breakfast this morning heralds a day at complete leisure. You have the option of taking part in any number of optional activities available in and around Swakopmund. Please find attached a list of these activities.

Day 3
Breakfast at the Swakopmund Hotel.
Departure from Swakopmund will see you heading south into the Sossusvlei area, driving via Walvis Bay, Solitaire and Sesriem. Your destination is the Kulala Desert Lodge.
Situated on the 21000ha private Kulala Nature Reserve, Kulala Desert Lodge is small and exclusive, ensuring personal attention in a charming African style setting. Enjoy the magnificent views of Sossusvlei’s famous red dunes. The Lodge is built from natural clay and thatch found in the area and blends perfectly with the surroundings.
Guests are accommodated in 12 private twin bed Akulalas all with en-suite facilities and a private veranda. There is the unique opportunity of spending a night under the African sky on your private stargazing platform above your Akulala.
Optional activities include guided 4x4 Sossusvlei tours, hot-air balloon safaris and property nature drives and walks.

Day 4
Breakfast at the Lodge
Visit to the Sossusvlei (Entrance fees on own account)
Head into the dunes as the sun start lighting up the sky. Excellent photographic opportunities exist. Here the dunes are reputed to be the highest in the world. Spend the morning walking amongst the dunes in the world’s oldest living desert. After some refreshments drive the 70 km’s back to Sesriem and the Sesriem Canyon, so named because the early settlers had to tie six harnesses together in order to draw water out the bottom for their thirsty oxen.
You will have the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5
Breakfast this morning is followed by the trip back to Walvis Bay and the airport. Return your rental vehicle and check in well in time for your return flight.
