Welcome2Africa offers 3 different tented safaris to the Kruger National Park. On these tours you will be staying at a permanent tented campsite inside Kruger National Park. The camp is within Maroela camp, which is in the center region of the Park, which is arguably the best area to see a large variety of wildlife, when in Kruger National Park.

The camp is secluded from the rest of Maroela camp, and erected along the fence line. There is a waterhole that we can see from our camp, and we get regular visits from a variety of wildlife, such as Buffalo, Elephant, Hyena, Genet, Honey badger, Impala, Porcupine, African Civet, and a large variety of bird species.

The camp consists of:
10 Permanent erected tents, that are on wooden platforms. The tents that we use are 2.1 x 2.1 canvas tents, with built in mosquito netting, and sleep two people. All tents have a light, and two proper beds with 12 cm thick sponge mattresses.
A large army tent that we use as a kitchen and shelter where you can relax around the fires during rains. This tent also has a fridge/freezer for you to keep your drinks cold in, and two large steel tables where your guide will prepare the meals. You will also find electrical points where you can recharge batteries etc.
Very comfortable garden chairs for you to relax around the fire place.
Wooden tables that you can sit at to write letters, or eat.
Great fireplace that you can relax by, while getting to know the others on your tour, listening to all the animal sounds of Africa, and having a drink.
A very clean ablution block. This we share with the rest of Maroela camp. There is 24 hours hot water, and it is very comfortable.
There is no shop in the camp, but your guide will always stop at a shop, three kilometers from our camp, before going to camp in the evenings.

There are many advantages of having a permanent camp inside Kruger National Park:
Your guides know the area very well, and therefore you will see a larger variety of wildlife.
It is organized, that improves the comfort for you.
You do not have to battle away after a long day's game drive with putting up tents. Sometimes in the wind and/or rain.
Every tent has a light, so that you can get around in your tent, and write letters or postcards.
The camp is in an area that has a large variety of wildlife, that ensures a large number of predators such as Lion.
The camp is in the center region of the Park, that enables us to do game drives in any direction.
The guides have become friends with all the junior rangers in the area, who keep us updated on conditions in the Park, sightings in the area, and animal movements.
All in all, it is in your advantage that we have the permanent erected camp inside Kruger National Park. It enhances your comfort, and game viewing.

All the Kruger National Park tours stay one night at a private owned lodge is only a few minutes drive from Kruger National Park. The lodge has a swimming pool, bar, and fantastic accommodation, with en-suite bathrooms.

All the game walks and night drives are done inside Kruger National Park, and not in private reserves. This means that our clients have a much better opportunity to see a larger variety of wildlife, including the Big 5, which you do not find in the private reserves.
The game walks are conducted by 2 armed Kruger Park rangers, and the night drives by a park guide, in an open-sided game viewing vehicle.
